Home » Pterygium
A lesion that has formed and may be causing irritation or interference with the patient’s vision is removed from the surface of the eye.
Eye drops are instilled to numb the eye. An incision is made where the pterygium begins to grow over the cornea. The lesion is then cut free and peeled off the cornea through dissection. A small piece of skin is taken from beneath the eyelid to fill in the area where the pterygium was removed.
